For all you music buffs out there, here’s Anton Crobijn’s burnished gem of a biopic about Ian Curtis, the enigmatic singer of Joy Division whose personal, professional, health and romantic troubles led him to take his own life at the tender age of 23. The film, it goes without saying, features a brilliant soundtrack, but it also includes a great script, stunning photography and fine performances, in particular from Sam Riley in the lead role.
