Gasland, Josh Fox’s alarming (or as gas industry lobbyists would have it, “alarmist”) HBO documentary on the environmental impact of the fracking industry in the U.S. is vital vieiwing for anybody who lives in a country that has granted or is considering granting rights for gas companies to frack their land. That includes the UK, the Netherlands, China, New Zealand, Poland, Tunisia and South Africa, to name just a few.

Of particular concern for Europeans should be the fact that the European Commission, under strong pressure from the UK government, recently refused to set legally binding environmental regulations for the continent’s fledgling shale gas industry.

The world, it seems, has gone fr**king crazy!
